Exciting Title
Game made for a 2018 Hackathon.
Why do hot dogs come in packs of 10 and buns in 8? If we can’t see air can fish sea water? Why do 2D platformers always run left to right? These are the questions that keep me up at night.
We set out to answer the last of these questions, a proof of concept game made during a hackathon. A greek myth game where the hero can CHOOSE to run either left or right, offering the player two different gameplay experiences. The right path offers a “Brawn” style of gameplay that involves fast reaction and expert hand-eye coordination, more or less. In contrast, the left path offers a “Brain” style of gameplay that asks players to use critical thinking to solve elaborate puzzles, (disclaimer) I use the word “elaborate” rather loosely.
Once the player masters both worlds they unlock the ultimate test, that challenges what they learned in their hero’s journey. Unfortunately, GitHub decided to delete half our project so here is what is left of this project. Maybe one day we will re-visit this venture.
